Chaz Beasley Announces Run for North Carolina House

Chaz Beasley, a local attorney, announced his campaign for the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Born and raised in the foothills of North Carolina, Chaz Beasley grew up in a low-income, single parent home. He attended North Carolina public schools and graduated with honors from Harvard University. Beasley then went on to earn his law degree at Georgetown.

“As a child, North Carolina invested in me. The great education I received in our public schools molded me into the person I am today,” Chaz Beasley said. “There are plenty of capable children who also deserve a quality public education that allows them to reach their potential. Instead, the politicians in Raleigh have been cutting funding to our schools and underpaying our teachers. These cuts are shortsighted and wrong. I’m running for the State House to ensure our students have the resources they need and our teachers are paid what they deserve.”

Currently, Beasley works as an attorney in the finance industry. He lives in Steele Creek with his fiancée Whitney, and his future step-daughter, Maddison.

“We are excited Chaz Beasley has decided to run for public office,” said Democratic Leader Larry D. Hall. “ We believe that Chaz’s intelligence, enthusiasm, and common sense approach will connect with voters who are desperate for a renewed focus on job creation and improving education.”

Today, Beasley also launched his campaign website at and filed his organizational papers with the North Carolina State Board of Elections to officially open his campaign committee.

House District 92 encompasses the western border of Mecklenburg County, reaching from Huntersville down to Pineville.
